Chiricahua Mountains
Arizona is located in Southwestern United States. It was the last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the union in 1912. Southern Arizona has a desert climate whilst in northern Arizona mountain ranges such as Flagstaff, Alpine and Tucson have ski resorts. Arizona is located in the United States as follows:
Cochise County is located in the southeast corner of Arizona and has a border with the Mexican state of Sonora.

Geology of the Chiricahua Mountains
The Chiricahuan Mountains are an uplifted block of the Basin and Range Province containing Precambrian, Paleozoic and Cretaceous sedimentary rocks. The Chiricahua National Monument is composed of Rhyolite Canyon Tuff and has numerous features such as stone columns, spires and hoodoos.
